There is a particular smell to paper that has sat in a room for thirty years. It is not quite dust, not quite vanilla, not quite decay. It is the smell of time having done its work quietly.

I opened a paperback this morning and was immediately ten years old again, reading on the floor of my grandmother’s house.

There is something profoundly satisfying about working with an engine that doesn’t try to dictate your presentation layer. No bloated block editors, no messβ€”just words, semantic tags, and database entries. Proudly boring and permanent indeed.
