There was a flash storm last night around 1 AM. I saw lightning creep through the opened upper portion of our hexagonal honeycomb blackout blinds. Heard thunder. Then this morning when I walked up to the corner there was a trash bin that had perhaps floated down the river of the street gutter and wound up overturned in my street. I moved it, but I have no clue whose it is and I'm wondering if it will still be where I left it when I return to the corner this afternoon.

Going to get my school volunteer badge renewed this morning. It’s not completely essential, but it’s a nice to have. I like being seen as validated while walking the halls. It matters, somehow.

According to Thurston Moore, SY were all into reading Harry Crews novels. Whose name until recently I would’ve spelled “Cruz” because I just had no clue. But MJ Lenderman also has mentioned being influenced by his writing - which is odd and notable to me - because Lenderman is indebted to Sonic Youth in obvious ways.

Encountering Thurston Moore in any kind of video, book, algorithmic recommendation, anything at all, makes me slightly perturbed. I don’t think I’ve forgiven him for messing up Sonic Youth.
