Creating files in macOS List View

I’ve chosen List view as my go-to Finder view in recent months. It is a good fit for how I like to navigate folders, being able to keep several within view, but drop in and out of the contents of each, without changing the overall directory level. I was formerly a Column view person, navigating via the arrow keys, but I’ve found that using multiple Finder windows spatially, a window per List view folder, works even better, and allows me to better keep my bearings.
