A Small Note on Moving House

After nearly a decade in the same corner of the internet, I have decided to pack up and move. Not physically—my books are still stacked in the same crooked piles—but digitally. This site is now running on Textpattern, a quiet, flexible content management system that feels closer to the hand-crafted web I miss.

Why leave the old place?

There were a few reasons, none of them dramatic:

• I wanted cleaner URLs and a simpler publishing flow.
• I missed the satisfaction of writing in plain text and seeing it become HTML.
• The old codebase had grown too many custom parts; I wanted something maintainable.

The best tools are the ones that get out of the way. Textpattern does that.

I will keep writing here. Some posts will be long, some will be fragments. That has always been the shape of this place.

What comes next

Over the next few weeks I will migrate older writing, tune the design, and figure out the right rhythm. If you read via RSS, the feed should continue without interruption.
